Oubliette

Somehow I really like having this tiny undiscovered corner of the Internet all to myself. Nobody knows I'm here. A fine and private place....a reflection of the secret mind. (If I ever actually posted anything.) Devi-Lilith stuff, I suppose.

My friend Proppy has an East Village photoblog, and he's tickled anytime someone discovers him. (I'd link to his blog, because it's awesome, but then he would know I'm here.) A way of making his mark? Validation? "This is who I am - I am not lost" (spoken by a college friend)? Dunno. I'm bemused by the difference.

So what does it mean when you invite someone in here? Are you letting them into part of your secret self?

S'pose it's become something like that, yes...

There's a guy who works for a different branch of my company, to whom my boss suggested I introduce myself because our bios had so much in common. I talked to him for the first time this morning, and he's completely my doppelganger, which is weird but kind of off topic, but ANYway...we talked about how people hide the little nerd things that mark their intellectual lives until they know it's safe to show them. This place has evolved into somewhere to dump the crazy brain stuff I don't quite dare tell other people about, so the people I invite here are people I trust intellectually.
